The data was categorized by referencing Berelson’s methods of content analysis.\nResults: We found that patients perform self-management while harboring the negative emotions of anger, sadness, distress, and anxiety, and the positive emotion of delight. The following categories ware extracted for self-efficacy: accumulating successful experiences, exchanges with fellow patients, support from others that suited the patient’s needs, accepting diabetes, and reducing negative emotions such as feeling burdened and anxiety.\nDiscussion: We found that adults with type 2 diabetes experience many emotions as they continue self-management. This suggests it is important for nurses to support patients by focusing on psychological characteristics that are a mix of negative and positive emotions. In addition, self-efficacy changes depending on the patient and the circumstances he or she is involved in. Still, incorporating therapies into patients’ lives in suitable ways can increase self-efficacy. This suggests that if nurses can increase patients’ self-efficacy, they can support them in continuing with self-management, without any interruptions or backsliding."}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2016-11-25"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"ijjns0501_01.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"402.1 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"本文(PDFファイル)","url":"https://koka.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/822/files/ijjns0501_01.pdf"},"version_id":"362471ad-9679-4d7d-9e5c-363af3c7781e"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"literature study","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"self-efficacy","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"psychology","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Type 2 diabetes","subitem_subject_language":"en","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Relationship between psychological characteristics and self-efficacy in continuing self-management by adult type 2 diabetes patients","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Relationship between psychological characteristics and self-efficacy in continuing self-management by adult type 2 diabetes patients"}]},"item_type_id":"3","owner":"13","path":["162"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-11-25"},"publish_date":"2016-11-25","publish_status":"0","recid":"822","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Relationship between psychological characteristics and self-efficacy in continuing self-management by adult type 2 diabetes patients"],"weko_creator_id":"13","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-06-23T12:33:04.946520+00:00"}
